REVIEW: Canary Smart Home

Elysium Magazine considers what the 2018 tech landscape could be given the promises of last year – smart homes continue to be the focus; even more with the onslaught of Apple entering the voice controlled space in Q1. As part of our search for what should be on your wish list we discovered Canary – a smart home monitoring system that does a fair bit to ensure your home is safe. Read on to find out what we thought.

The Flex is a great piece of kit, it is small but powerful and fits nicely anywhere in the home – and outside! All weather conditions safe it’s a smart, yet discrete, camera that looks after your home while you  are away. It certainly wouldn’t look out of place in any setting and – the best part – no drills required; rechargeable battery and wall mounted via magnetic base. Already the Flex makes looking after your home easy!

The Canary App syncs easily to the device and provides a simple yet useful dashboard; view live, any potential activity while you are away and easily set schedules and notifications.  It also allows for multiple devices and the ability to talk through the system when you are not around – our dog loves it!

There are additional features that Canary provide with a very reasonable annual subscription to provide additional security to your home. In comparison to some similar products on the market, the Flex provides the best quality sound and visuals in all types of light and conditions. Elysium has certainly put it on our tech wish list for 2018, a key part of the connected home or office.
