It\u2019s that time of year, men. Time to let your usually meticulous grooming regime go a little for the month of November and do your bit to raise awareness for men\u2019s health issues. It\u2019s time for grow your moustache, or \u2018Mo\u2019 for Movember!<\/p>\n

Celebrating its 10th<\/sup> year, it\u2019s hard to believe a decade has passed since the official inception of what we know today as Movember. From highlighting prostate cancer in its early years to growing to cover men\u2019s health issues entirely \u2013 the awareness drive has been a force for good. Raising more than \u00a3440m for research into men\u2019s health issues, the impact this charity initiative is undeniable. Let\u2019s also not forget that Movember has made questionable facial hair cool again, just like the 60s and 70s!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Discerning gents will know the rules, but for the uninitiated let\u2019s recap the rules:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. There is to be no joining of the Mo to the side burns \u2013 that\u2019s a beard.<\/li>\n
  2. There is to be no joining of the handlebars \u2013 that\u2019s a goatee.<\/li>\n
  3. A small complementary growth under the bottom lip is allowed (aka a tickler).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Start the month clean shaven, cultivate and nurture that moustache like you would your very own allotment. Grow that Mo into a thing of character and beauty \u2013 or at least have fun trying!<\/p>\n

    A couple of tweaks to the activities this year: the \u2018Move\u2019 challenge \u2013 which encourages people to carry out physical activity to raise funds; and the \u2018Host\u2019 initiative, where fundraisers run events such as barbecues or charity football tournaments.<\/p>\n
