Whilst there was glitz and glamour aplenty on the red carpet \u2013 but from a sartorial sense the BRITs have always been a less formal spectacle \u2013 that\u2019s how rock \u2018n\u2019 roll works. However a select few artists stayed true to the ways of the discerning gent, so Elysium Magazine runs through the style winners.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>Muse<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Muse\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8097\/8493842585_cf3ba3fb88_z_d.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Delivering a trademark opening set for the awards that probably frightened the life out of the giddy teeny boppers, the guys from Muse &#8211; Matthew Bellamy (centre), Christopher Wolstenholme (right) and Dominic Howard (left)\u00a0looked the epitome of understated cool ahead of their performance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>Justin Timberlake<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Justin Timberlake\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8248\/8493843009_e846aeb7d5_z_d.jpg\" width=\"404\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>JT knows how to rock a suit as we saw in his new video for <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.elysium-uk.com\/site\/desire\/justin-timberlake-premieres-suit-and-tie\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Suit and Tie<\/span><\/a><\/span>, so why break a winning formula? JT worked the red carpet with his usual brand of swagger and charm.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>Mumford and Sons<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Mumford and Sons\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8238\/8493842541_19bebcc627_z_d.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"423\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Last year was a great year for the Mumford and Sons gang who took the casual style route on their way to winning a well-deserved Best British Group award last night.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>Ne-Yo<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Ne-Yo\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8089\/8493842819_78de297bcc_z_d.jpg\" width=\"481\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The US artist is never one to shy away from his duties on the style scene, looking very dapper for the BRITs even though he\u00a0wasn&#8217;t\u00a0up for any awards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>JLS<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"JLS\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8390\/8493842925_8574b65d9a_z_d.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On a similar theme to Ne-Yo, the JLS boys kept the dapper theme running with their choice of the three piece suit \u2013 of which Elysium Magazine is a huge fan. Statement patterns and sharp cuts was the order of the night here for the guys although they\u00a0weren&#8217;t\u00a0up for any awards themselves. The lesson here: always look good, even if you\u2019re not winning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>Ben Howard<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Ben Howard\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8523\/8493842639_42416155c7_z_d.jpg\" width=\"444\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the biggest surprise of the night. Songsmith Ben picked up not one but two BRIT awards last night \u2013 Best British Male Solo and British Breakthrough Artist. Up against some big names, the best route to take is to look cool and calm when confronted by the flashing lights of the paparazzi, and he did it well. Better get used to it Ben!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>Calvin Harris<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Calvin Harris\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8234\/8494941640_7e7d44fceb_z_d.jpg\" width=\"408\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The usually casual look was given a night off by the Scottish DJ as he pulled off the smart and distinguished look. Not a BRIT winner on the night but Calvin was a winner on the style front.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>One Direction<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"One Direction\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8384\/8493842743_fc8aef993a_z_d.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"481\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The global phenomenon that is the British boy band One Direction shows no sign of fading as the five-piece picked Best British Global Success. From left to right; Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Harry Styles ditched the skinny jeans and t-shirt look for a more smarter and formal style.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elysium Magazine looks at the style winners from the BRIT Awards 2013.
